CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Both the men's and women's 400 free relay teams hit NCAA B-Cuts as the Keene State College swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the MIT Invitational. The women finished in seventh place with 193 points, while the men were in fifth place with 258 points.
The relay team of Samantha Dickinson, Madison Pechulis, Sophie Hayes, and Katie Brandeberry made up the 200 yard medley relay that finished 10th in 1:51.91, while Dickinson was seventh in the "C" final of the 200 backstroke in 2:19.71.
Hayes was ninth in the "B" final of the 100 fly, with a time of 1:01.17, and Olivia Pechulis also finished ninth, in the "B" final of the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.15. Paige Carey won the "C" final of the same event in 2:38.50.
Brandeberry was ninth overall in the 100 free, in 54.28, while Dickinson was fifth in the "B" final of the 200 IM in 2:16.07. Dickinson and Brandeberry also teamed up with Kristyn Simoneau and Molly O'Connor to finish 16th in the 400 free relay that scored an NCAA B-cut time of 3:43.97.
In the men's 200 medley relay, Zach Payne, Kyle Shadeck, Eric King, and Jacob Peters finished 14th in 1:38.95, and Quint Kimmel was sixth in the "C" final of the 500 free in 5:14.63.
Payne and Tyler Young were ninth and 10th, respectively, in the "B" final of the 200 backstroke, with Payne in 2:06.88 and Young in 2:09.89. Shadeck was fourth overall in the 100 fly, with a time of 50.18 seconds, just .02 seconds off the school record set by Cody Lattimore in 2010.
Payne and Peters added respective second (49.80) and third (49.92) seconds in the "C" final of the 100 freestyle, and the Owls also claimed the second, third, and fourth spots in the "C" final of the 200 IM as Young was second in 2:05.09, Andrew Daur was third in 2:07.80, and Peters was fourth in 2:08.81.
Payne, Shadeck, Peters, and Michael Moorman closed out the night by finishing 12th in the 400 free relay in 3:18.63.
