  • Lamica Becomes Keene State's First Volleyball All-American

    LEXINGTON, Ky.--All-Conference.  All-Region.  All-Star.  And now, a history making All-American.   The honors continue to roll in for Keene State College senior outside hitter Rachel Lamica, who became the first All-American in program history with her Honorable Mention selection as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

    KEENE, N.H.--Junior Riley Bunker was named the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Head Coach Bob Weiner was named the LEC Coach of the Year as the conference office announced the end of season award winners today.  The Owls also placed three on the LEC All-Conference teams.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Keene State College volleyball team wrapped up one of the most successful regular seasons in program history by splitting a tri-match at Western New England University on Saturday.  The Owls defeated Curry College 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-12) before falling to the host Golden Bears 3-0 (15-25, 19-25, 14-25).

    KEENE, N.H.--The Keene State College volleyball team headed into tonight's game knowing a win over Plymouth State University would secure the No. 2 seed in next week's Little East Conference tournament.  The Owls got what they came for and more, clinching a share of the Little East Conference regular season championship with a 3-1 win over the Panthers in Foley Gym.

    Special. That?s how Keene State College head volleyball coach Bob Weiner describes his team this year. The Owls are 16-2 after Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Emmanuel College, one short of the team's win total in all of 2016.  The team is led this year by their sole senior Rachel Lamica, who this season became the fifth player in program history to reach 1,000 kills and is now looking to the second half of the season.
