Owls drop pair at Tufts Invitational
MEDFORD, MASS. 10/3/09 - The Keene State women's volleyball team dropped non-conference matches to Wellesley College (3-2) and host Tufts University (3-0) at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
Keene State (9-11) won the first two games against Wellesley (25-23 and 25-19) before losing the last three games (25-21, 25-15, and 15-13). Sophomore Ellyse Davis (Londonderry, N.H.), who was named to the All-Tournament team had 12 kills and six blocks. Sophomore Tiffani Brooks (Salem Conn.) had 11 kills and senior Abby Rosen (Hebron, Conn.) added a career high 28 digs.
The Owls, who posted a 2-2 record at the tournament, were swept by Tufts 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, and 25-12) in their final match. Brooks had a team-high 11 kills in the match.
Keene State returns home to face rival Plymouth State in a key LEC match on Tuesday.
