Keene State Women ranked in national track poll
KEENE, N.H. 1/21/10 - Keene State College is ranked eighth in the first U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll announced on Thursday.
The Owls lofty ranking is based on the early-season performance of junior Allison Chamberlain. The Scarborough, Me., native is currently ranked first in the 800-meter event (2:14.63) and the mile (5:03.93).
The men of UW Oshkosh, the co-defending indoor champions from a year ago, have the started the 2010 season on top of the rankings. On the women's side, Illinois Wesleyan (131.27) leads the rankings narrowly over UW Oshkosh (130.30).
Keene State competes at the MIT Invitational on Saturday.
