Little East Honors Three Owls

KEENE, N.H. 2/2/5/08 - Keene State swept both Little East Conference women's track honor on Monday with Jennifer Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Crystal Blamy (Walpole, N.H.) being named track and field and field athlete of the week respectively. Owl sophomore guard Kristin Degou (Newburyport, Mass.) was also selected to the LEC women's basketball honor roll.

Adams, who earned the honor for the second time this season, raced to a pair of top-five finishes at this past weekend at the New England Division III Championships. The senior from Saratoga Springs finished second in the mile with a time of 4:56.48, which would have broken the previous meet record. Adams placed fourth in the 1,000 with a time of 3:00.41, while earning 11th in the 4 X 800 meter relay.

Blamy, a four-time recipient of LEC field honors, won the New England Division III Championship in the high jump this past weekend with a leap of 5'-04.25. She was the top student-athlete in the 17-person field.

Degou averaged 11 points and seven rebounds leading KSC in a pair of LEC games against Eastern Conn. and UMass-Boston.
