Swim: Owls Post Mixed Results at BSC
'BRIDGEWATER, MASS.1/25/06 - Keene State College had mixed results in a dual meet against Bridgewater State College on Wednesday night. The KSC men prevailed 174-87 while the Owl women came up short 169-124 against the Bears.
The Keene State men (3-3) captured 11 of 16 events. Three Owls were double winners. Kyle Uricchio (Enfield, Con.) won the 500 (5:09.19) and 1,000-yd. freestyle (10:29.23), Dan Omrod (Branford, Conn.) had first place finishes in the 50 (26.83) and 100 backstroke (58.71) races and Scott Seligman (Clifton Park, N.Y.) topped the field in the 50 breaststroke (28.23) and the 100 breastroke (1:02.21)to lead the Owls.
Other first place finishes were posted by Adam Van Brandenburg (Tenafly, N.J.) in the 200 free (1:53.18), Charlie Garrigan (Camden, Me.) in the 50 free (23.47)Ian MacAskill (Londonderry, N.H.) in the 100 butterfly (1:00.98), and Zach Hastings (Weston, Mass.) in 1-meter diving (224.30 points).
Chris Yeakel (West Hartofrd, Con,), Mo Mulholland (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Ormrod, and Seligman also combined to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.81).
Devon Trabilsy (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) won a pair of events for the KSC women (5-3). Trabilsy swam to wins in the 50 (35.36) and 100 breastroke (1:16.42) and Yankowski took the 50 (26.94) and 100 freestyle (58.29) races. Caitlin Coulombe (Lincoln, R.I.) also won the 200 individual medley (2:25.48).
Keene State competes at Bentley College on Saturday (2 p.m.).
