Melissa Dempsey named to All-ECAC soccer team

KEENE, N.H. 12/21/11 – Post season honors keep on rolling in for Keene State College soccer player Melissa Dempsey.   The senior back from East Weymouth, Mass was named to the ECAC New England Women’s Soccer All-Star first-team announced on Wednesday. 

Anchoring the Owls’ backfield, Dempsey led a stingy KSC defense that posted 13 shutouts and gave up just two goals in seven Little East games this season.

Adept at moving up and helping the Owls’ offense, she also contributed three goals and three assists. 

In addition to her ECAC honor, Dempsey was also recognized on the NSCAA All-Region, NEWISA All-New England, and All-LEC teams as well as selected to play in the NEWISA senior game.
