Six Owls Earn LEC Weekly Honors
North Dartmouth, Mass. 10/31/11 – Six Keene State College student-athletes earned Little East Conference player of the week honors as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Women’s
Soccer Offensive Player of the
Week
Jessica Berthiaume (Worcester, Mass.), Sophomore, Forward,
Keene State College
Berthiaume recorded a goal and an assist for three points to lead
Keene State College to a 1-1 mark this past week. The sophomore
from Worcester, Mass. registered each of her three points at Little
East rival Western Connecticut. Berthiaume and the rest of the Owls
clinched the regular-season title and top seed in the upcoming
tournament.
Women’s
Soccer Rookie of the
Week
Alex Haley (Laconia, N.H.), Freshman, Midfielder, Keene
State College
Haley scored the game-winning goal in Keene State 2-0 win over
Western Connecticut on Saturday. The Laconia, N.H. product helped
the Owls capture the regular-season title and top seed in the
upcoming tournament with her marker in the 35th minute.

Hockey Offensive Player of the
Week
Elizabeth Coffin (Sugar Hill, N.H.), Senior, Forward, Keene State
College
Coffin produced two goals and three assists for seven points to
help lead Keene State to a 2-0 mark this past week. The senior
striker from Sugar Hill, N.H. scored the game-winning goal in each
contest for the Owls. She recorded a marker and two helpers in a
win over Smith College. Later in the week, Coffin found the back of
the net and handed out an assist in the victory over conference foe
Framingham State. The win over the Rams clinched the regular-season
title for Keene State.

Hockey Goalkeeper of the
Week
Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, Mass.), Freshman, Keene State
College
Davino-Draper posted a 0.00 goals against average and
1.000 save percentage in two matches for Keene State this past
week. The Hanover, Mass. product didn’t allow a goal in 14
minutes and five seconds of play against Smith. Later in the week,
she made two saves to post a shutout victory against Framingham
State.
Male Runner of
the Week
Kevin Hoyt (Newtown, Conn.), Senior, Keene State
College
Hoyt swept the individual titles at the 2011 New England Alliance
and Little East Conference Championship this past weekend on the
campus of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The senior
from Newtown, Conn. covered the rain-soaked 8-kilometer course in a
time of 24 minutes, 50 seconds to defeat the 153-person regional
field. Hoyt helped Keene State earn second place in each
championship field.
Female Runner
of the Week
Paige Mills (Keene, N.H.), Senior, Keene State
College
Mills captured the 2011 New England Alliance and Little East Cross
Country Championship this past weekend. The senior from Keene, N.H.
led the 5-kilometer course at the University of Massachusetts
Dartmouth from wire-to-wire to help Keene State won the team
championship for the 12th consecutive campaign. Mills averaged a
five minute, 48 second mile to complete the course in 18 minutes
and two seconds.
