Bradford named ECAC offensive player of the year; Joins three Owls on All-ECAC team
KEENE, N.H. 12/22/10 – Keene State College’s Katie Bradford (Lebanon, N.H.) has been named ECAC Division III New England women’s soccer offensive player of the year. Nora Mahoney (Belchertown, Mass.) and Melissa Dempsey (North Weymouth Mass.) joined Bradford on the All-ECAC team announced on Wednesday.
Bradford had a super senior season for the Owls (17-6-2), finishing with 19 goals, 16 assists and 54 points. The senior forward put her name in the KSC record book, becoming the school’s all-time career leader in goals (67) and points (164).
A force at midfield for the Owls, Mahoney finished her senior season with five goals and seven assists for 17 points. She concluded her career by being selected as the most outstanding player of the ECAC New England tournament.
Dempsey helped anchor a KSC defense that posted 10 shutouts this past season. One of the Owls’ most consistent players, the junior back was also a factor in corner kicks, crashing the net for five goals.
