Benefit Dance and Silent Auction for Justin Parrott and Family to be Held on Saturday in Walpole
KEENE, N.H. 10/7/10 – Former players and teammates and friends of Justin Parrott will have a chance to show their support for the longtime Fall Mountain High School girls and current Keene State women's assistant soccer coach and his family at a benefit dance and silent auction in Walpole on Saturday.
The event will take place at the Walpole Fire Station (278 Main Street) and go from 7 -11 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.
Parrot, who has diabetes, recently had several eye operations. He has been unable to see for periods of time and unable to work. Justin's wife Rachel has been working two jobs to try to make ends meet, but it's been tough financially for the family.
The benefit, which will include hors d'oeuvres, a quilt raffle (quilt donated by the Walpole Fire Station Women's Auxiliary), and music by DJ Parker Springfield is being organized by Vicki Warzecha, a longtime family friend.
"The support has been great," she said. "It really goes to show how many people he knows and touched. They're coming from everywhere."
Justin's mother Kathra Parrott says he is overwhelmed by all the support. "Justin is the type of person who thinks there's somebody who needs it more than him," she said. "I just told him to go and have a good time- just know that all these people care so much about you."
A former standout soccer player at Fall Mountain Regional High
school who went on to play at Keene State, Parrott returned to his
high school alma mater where he coached the highly successful
girls' soccer team. During his eight-year tenure, he
compiled a 92-42-12 record, leading the Wildcats to several
appearances in the Class I tournament, including 2006 when the team
advanced to the semifinal round. Parrot joined the KSC
women's soccer coaching staff in 2008.
A lifelong resident of Walpole, Parrott has served as the director of the Walpole Village School and also worked in the Westmoreland school district.
