Owls place three on NSCAA Division III All-Region women's soccer team

KEENE, N.H. 12/14/09 - The Keene State College women's soccer team placed three players on the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Region Team announced on Monday.

Junior forward Katie Bradford (Lebanon, N.H.) and sophomore goalie Megan Dempsey (East Weymouth, Mass.) were named to the second team while senior back Jaclyn Grant (Newington, Conn.) was a third team selection. Bradford and Grant are making their second straight appearance on the team while Dempsey is a first time member.

One of the top forwards in the Little East Conference, Bradford finished the season with 18 goals, six assists, and 42 points.  Bradford scored at least one goal in 13 of the 25 games she played with five being game winners.                 

Taking over as the Owls top goalie this season, Dempsey had a 0.80 GAA and .827 save percentage and topped the LEC with nine shutouts. 

Grant anchored an Owl defense that allowed a conference best four goals and posted 13 shutouts.  She also helped out offensively, chipping in with a couple of goals and an assist.

Finishing their season with a 16-6-3 record, the Owls won the LEC regular-season title and captured the ECAC New England Championship.
