Bradford Named to New England ECAC 2nd Team

CAPE COD, Mass. 12/3/09 - The ECAC has announced the ECAC Division III New England Women's Soccer All-Stars and Keene State College junior forward Katie Bradford (Lebanon, N.H.) earned second team honors for her 18 goals and six assists for 42 points in 2009.

"Katie has become one of the most dangerous strikers around," said KSC head coach Denise Lyons. "She is dangerous and creates havoc for opposing defenses and I believe she will challenge next year for the school record in goals which she is only 12 away from."

The junior is currently third all-time in Keene State College history with 48 career goals trailing Laurie St. Pierre (53) and Philo Robinson (60). Bradford led a very balanced Owls attack and was the only student-athlete with double-digit goals this season with 18. She also led KSC with five game-winning goals this past season, including the game-winner  and a hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Lesley University in the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Tournament.

The Owls, after falling in the LEC Championship game, went on to win the 2009 New England ECAC Championship with a thrilling 4-2 penalty-kick victory over host Brandeis College for their first title since 2005.
