Jamie Albert, Junior, Women's Lacrosse

Jamie Albert played a major role leading Keene State College to the ECAC New England women’s lacrosse championship this past weekend at Plymouth State University.  The junior midfielder from Southington, Conn. had four goals and two assists in the Owls 12-8 semifinal win over rival Plymouth State on Saturday.

 On Sunday, Albert led the third seeded Owls’ comeback 18-17 win over top seed Mount Holyoke and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player of the  tournament.  She scored six of KSC’s seven goals in the big second-half surge and ended up with a game-high 11 points on seven goals and four assists along with a team-best five draw controls.  “We played the way we know how to play,” said Albert. “We came out and gave everything we had. We deserved a championship and we got one.”

Albert moved into third all time in goals, with 133  in her career.  Albert finished the season with 63 goals, the fourth-best season in KSC history, behind Michelle Mason's 70, 68 and 64 goal seasons. 

Winnings its first ECAC Championship since 2004, the Owls conclude their season with a 14-5 record.
