Degou named LEC women's basketball player of the week
KEENE, N.H. 3/8/10 - Keene State's Kristin Degou has been named the Little East Conference women's basketball player of the week for the third time this season.
Degou led Keene State College to the ECAC Division III New England Championship this past week, averaging 18 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game. The native of Newburyport, Mass. shot 41.9 percent (18-for-43) from the floor, including 43.5 percent (10-for-23) from behind the three-point arc. Degou posted a pair of double-doubles against Suffolk (21-14) and Plymouth State (14-10) in the regional tournament. She registered a pair of single-game highs with 14 boards against the Rams, and six blocks against the Panthers.
Keene State finished its season with a 20-9 record. It's the Owls' third 20-win season in the past four years.
