Degou Earns ECAC Co-Player of the Week Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. 01/05/2010 - Keene State College senior forward Kristin Degou was named the ECAC Co-Player of the week for her efforts in the Grand Canyon Classic in Phoenix, Arizona.

Degou averaged 20.5 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals on the way to being named the most valuable player of the Grand Canyon Classic in Phoenix, Ariz. She reached the 20-point barrier in each game, as Keene State posted a 1-1 week. She filled out the boxscore against Goucher College by netting 20 points, pulling in six boards, handing out four assists, and forcing three steals in a 66-44 win. In the championship game, Degou posted a double-double against Wisconsin-Oshkosh in an overtime loss with 21 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. In the two games, she shot 46 percent from the field (14-for-30), 33 percent from three-point range (5-for-15), and 89 percent (8-for-9) from the charity stripe.

The Keene State women return to action Thursday, January 7th, at Westfield State at 5:30 pm.
