Degou Earns LEC Player of the Week Honors; D'Amours Makes Honor Roll
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. 11/23/09 - Senior guard Kristin Degou (Newburyport, Mass.) was named the Little East Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday morning. For the men's team, sophomore Derek D'Amours (Agawam, Mass.) was named to the LEC Honor Roll for his efforts last week.

After not scoring a points in the Owls' opening season game against
Nichols, Degou averaged 21 points and five rebounds to lead Keene
State to the Keene State Tip Off tournament championship this
weekend. She scored a career-high 29 points, including five three
pointers, with three rebounds, two blocks and a pair of steals in a
73-64 win over Regis College. In the championship game against
Univ. of New England, Degou had 13 points, seven rebounds, two
assists, three blocks and three steals in the 87-47 win. Degou was
named the tournament's MVP.

D'Amours averaged 27.7 points per game for the Owls in three games this week including a career-high 33 points in the win over Colby Sawyer last Sunday at the Jacob's Bridge Through Autism Tournament at NHTI in Concord, N.H. At the Noyes Volkswagen Tip-Off Tournament, the sophomore led KSC in scoring with 28 points in the opening round victory over SUNY Cobleskill. D'Amours was named to the Noyes Volkswagen All-Tournament Team for his efforts.
Both teams hit the road Tuesday night with the Women facing off against Trinity at 6 p.m., while the Men travel to Western New England College for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
