Two Owls receive New England Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honors
KEENE, N.H. 3/11/09 - Two Keene State players received honors from the New England Women's Basketball Coaches Association (NEWBA) on Thursday. Junior guard Kristin Degou (Newburyport, Mass.) was named to the NEWBA All-Region second team and senior guard Michele Boudreau (Readsboro, Vt.) was selected to play in the Association's Senior All-Star Classic.
Degou topped the Owls in scoring (13.1 ppg.) and blocks (1.0 bpg), and was second in rebounding (4.6 rpg.). She hit double figures in 23 games, scoring a season high 21 points against rival Plymouth State on Jan. 20 and Feb. 24.
Directing the team from her point guard position, Boudreau led the Owls in assists (2.9 apg.) and steals (3.2 spg.) and was second in the Little East Conference with a 1.8 assist/turnover ratio. She also helped out offensively, averaging 9.1 ppg. In her final game at KSC, Boudreau broke the school's career steal record (267).
The senior All-Star Classic will take place at Western New England College on Saturday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m.
