Owls and Beacons Participate in WBCA Pink Zone Week
KEENE, N.H. 2/23/09 - Keene State and UMass-Boston joined over 1,500 institutions and organizations that participated in the 2009 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) fight against breast cancer during Pink Zone week, Feb. 13-22.
Fans wearing pink to either the Keene State women' or men's basketball games against UMass-Boston games on Saturday were given free admission.
In addition, both Owl and Beacon women players wore pink shooting shirts, and the KSC Student Athletic Activities Committee (SAAC) held a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going toward the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
