Perry Joins Women's Basketball Coaching Staff

KEENE, N.H. 11/22/07 - The Keene State women's basketball team will have an Ivy League feel to it this season with the addition of Claire Perry as an assistant coach.

Perry, a native of Doylestown, Pa., joins the Owls' coaching staff after completing her four-year career at Cornell University last season.  A three-year starter for the Big Red, Perry had her best season as a junior in 2005-06 when she finished second on the team in scoring and (12.9 ppg.) and rebounding (5.1 rpg.) and received All-Ivy honorable mention honors.  An outstanding defender and three-point shooter, she led the league in free throw pct. (.882) as a senior captain.

Perry was a four-year letter-winner At Mount St. Joseph's (Pa.) Academy where she was a 1,000-point scorer and helped lead the squad to the Catholic Academy league championship and a seventh place finish in the state.

Moving into the coaching ranks, Perry, who enjoys the details of the game, will help develop the skills of Owl players in posting and setting screens.
