Patnode and Allenson named to All-New England softball team
KEENE, N.H. 5/15/09 - Keene State seniors Jenna Patnode (Surry, N.H.) and Katie Allenson (Clifton Park, N.Y.) have been named to the New England Softball Coaches Association 2009 Division III All-Star team. Both players are making their second appearance on the team.
Patnode led the Owls in several offensive categories, including batting (.423), runs (47), hits (63), and stolen bases (47). Her 47 stolen bases is an Owl season record. Playing both centerfield and third base, Patnode holds career mark in hits (206) and runs (165) and is tied for the all-time record in stolen bases (99).
A productive bat in the middle of the Owls' batting order, Allenson split time at third and behind the plate for KSC this spring. She topped the team in doubles (14) and home runs (6) to with her .374 batting average and 33 RBIs. Allenson completes her career first on KSC's batting list (.394), tied for fourth in home runs (19) and RBIs (108).
Completing their season with a 30-14 record, the Owls captured its first ECAC New England Division III championship.
