Senior Peter Najem placed third in the 800-meter race at the ECAC Division III championships on Saturday

Keene State College senior Peter Najem improved his already solid time in the 800 meter event last Thursday night with an automatic NCAA qualifying and new KSC record time of 1:50.79 en route to his first place finish at the Oneonta State May Meet.  Najem, a senior from Derry, N.H. becomes just the third athlete in Division III to hit the automatic time this year in the 800 meter event.  Najem will compete in the 800 and 1,500-meter races at the NCAA Championships that begin Thursday at Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio.
