ECAC Track: Najem and Kolacz win events
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. 5/14/10 – Keene State College senior Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.) and junior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) won events at the ECAC Division III Track and Field Championships that concluded on Friday at Springfield College's Blake Track.
Kolacz won the hammer event with a throw of 187’-10 while Najem raced to win in the 800-meter race (1:51.56).
Senior Dan Colina (Rochester, N.H.) placed fourth in the javelin (191’-07”).
In the women’s field, sophomores Paige Mills (Keene, N.H.) and Andrea Walsh (Bolton, Conn.) turned in strong performances. Mills finished third in the 5,000 race (17:57.73) while Walsh placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:07. 90.
In team scoring, the Keene State men finished 15th with 25 points. The Owl women tallied 10 points and placed 27th in the 48-team field.
