Trethewey wins 3,000-meter race at Harvard Open
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. 12/12/09 - Junior Allison Chamberlain (Scarborough, Maine) won the 800-meter and mile races at the Harvard Open at the Gordon Track Center in Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday.
Chamberlain won the 800 with a time of 2:18.77 and posted a provisional NCAA Division III Championship time of 5:03.03 with her victory in the mile. Junior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) also placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:21.02.
Junior Jeff Trethewey (Merrimack, N.H.) led the Keene State men's team with a first place performance in the 3,000-meter race (8:41.80). Freshman Shawn Shand (Keene, N.H.) set a KSC record with his ninth place finish (7.17) in the 60-meter dash.
In field events, junior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) took second in the weight throw (9'-00.25") and eighth in the shot-put (5'-10.75").
The Owls will compete next at the Dartmouth Invitational on Jan. 10.
