Three Owls Selected in Weekly LEC Awards
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. 1/11/10 - The Little East Conference selected three Keene State College student-athletes for this week's awards. Freshman swimmer Kaila Umbarger was named Rookie of the week, while juniors Bryan Kolacz and Allison Chamberlain were given Field and Track Athletes of the week for their performances.

Kaila Umbarger (Chelmsford, Mass.), Freshman, Keene State
College
In a non-scoring meet against Ithaca College held in Puerto Rico,
Umbarger captured the 50-meter freestyle (28.57), while placing
third in the 100-meter free (1:07.85). The Chelmsford, Mass.
product was a member of the Owls 200-meter medley relay (2:13.67)
and 200-meter free relays (2:01.12) that both finished second.

Field Athlete of the Week
Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.), Junior, Keene State
College
Kolacz posted an automatic NCAA Division III Championship
qualifying mark in the 35-pound weight throw event at the 41st
Dartmouth Relays on Sunday. The Brentwood, N.H. native placed third
with a throw of 60'-02.00".

Allison Chamberlain (Scarborough, Maine), Junior, Keene
State College
At the 41st Dartmouth Relays on Sunday, Chamberlain crossed the
finish line at two minutes, 14.63 seconds to post an NCAA
provisional qualifying time. The Scarborough, Maine product also
placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 59.51 seconds.
