Najem and Kolacz earn LEC track honors

KEENE, N.H. 5/11/09 - Keene State's Peter Najem and Bryan Kolacz earned Little East Conference track honors on Monday.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.), Senior, Keene State College
Najem raced to a school record time of 1:51.81 with his fifth place finish in the 800-meter race at the New England Track and Field Championships at UMass Amherst on Saturday. Najem's also posted an NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying time with his performance.

Male Field Athlete of the Week
Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.), Sophomore, Keene State College
Kolacz won the hammer event at the New England Track and Field Championships at UMass Amherst on Friday. The Brentwood, N.H. established a new school record and set the standard for Division III with a throw of 197'-5.00". He also placed sixth in the discus the following afternoon with a mark of 149'-10".
