Kolacz wins hammer and discus events at UMass-Lowell Invitational

LOWELL, MASS.  4/11/09 - Keene State senior Samantha Hirsh (Holliston, Mass.) posted an NCAA provisional mark with a winning throw of 13'-04" at the George Davis Track Invitational at UMass-Lowell on Saturday.

Hirsh earned All-America honors in the event with her fourth place finish at last year's national meet.

Sophomore Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) also had fine day in field events, winning the discus (148'-07) and hammer (185'-01") competition. Sophomore Nick White (Westbrook, Conn.) placed second in the discus (121'-06") and third in the hammer (146'-02").

Junior Dan Colina (Dover, N.H.) was second in the javelin (177'-06").

On the track, sophomore Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.) won the 3,000-meter steeplechase race with a time of 9:40.45.
