MacPherson wins 5,000-meter race at Harvard Open
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. 12/13/08 - Keene State sophomore Craig MacPherson (Derry, N.H.) won the 5,000-meter race at the Harvard Open track meet on Saturday.
MacPherson, who earned All-American honors last season in the mile, posted a wining time of 14:49.65 in the 5,000.
In other races sophomore Jeff Threthewey (Merrimack, N.H.) placed third in the mile (4:20.33), senior Patrick Craven (North Kingstown, N.H.) was fourth in the 800 (1:57.84) and junior Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.) and senior Sean Gavaghan (Monroe, Conn.) finished fifth (8:43.82) and sixth (8:49.57) respectively in the 3,000 race.
In field events, sophomore Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) placed fifth in the weight throw (16.42m) and seventh in the shotput (12.96m).
Sophomore Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) had the top finish by the KSC women. She placed fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:22.28.
Gretchen Galvin was fourth in the weight throw (10.57m).
