Radlof Leads Decathlon After Day #1 at New England Championships
NEW LONDON, CONN. 05/1/08 - Sophomore Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.) leads at the half-way point of the decathlon competition at the New England Division III Track and Field Championships being held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.
Radlof, tallied 3,348 points following Thursday's first day of competition. The sophomore finished first in the 100 (11.34) and the long jump (21'-10.00"), second in the high jump (6'-00.50"), third in the 400 (52.78), and fourth in the shot-put (32'-04.75").
The final events (110-hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1,500) will take place on Friday. Radlof, who set the school pentathlon record this season, is looking to break the decathlon record (7,163) set in 1979 by Paul Trocki in 1979.
