Owl divers come up short at NEISDA Championship
WALTHAM, MASS. 2/13/10 - It wasn't a good day on the board for Keene State divers competing at the NEISDA championships at Bentley College on Saturday.
All four Owl divers failed to finish in the top six in the one-meter event and advance to the finals. On the men's side, sophomore Derek Peabody (Haverhill, Mass.) finished seventh with 352.55 points and sophomore Jack Ferriter (Northampton, Mass.) placed 12th with 306 points.
In the women's field, junior Rachel Battis (Beacon Falls, Conn.) was seventh with 344.95 points while freshman Jaclyn Rando (Walpole, Mass.) placed 16th with 294.00 points.
The three-meter diving competition will take place on Sunday.
The NEISDA swimming championship will take place next weekend (Feb. 19-21) at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vt.
KSC men's and women's teams are defending champs.
