Nyman and Senecal named to NSCAA All-New England team
KEENE, N.H. 12/9/10 – Keene State sophomores Blake Nyman (Plymouth, Mass.) and Joe Senecal (Manchaug, Mass.) have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Region team. Both Owl players were second- team selections.
Nyman anchored an Owl defense that posted five shutouts and finished third in the Little East Conference in goals allowed (1.25). Possessing great field instincts and ability to win head balls, Nyman also crashed the net during corner kicks. His lone goal was the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Western Conn.
Hampered by a leg injury during the second half of the season, Senecal still managed to lead the Owls in scoring with nine goals, two assists, and 20 points. Senecal had four game-winning goals for KSC this season – none bigger than his late-game goal against Rhode Island College in the LEC championship game.
Finishing the season with a 14-4-2 record, Keene State captured the Little East regular season and tournament titles and earned a berth in the NCAA tournament this fall.
