Blackmer, Nyman Earn Weekly Honors

N. DARTMOUTH, Mass. 10/26/10 – Keene State College men’s soccer players Blake Nyman and Paul Blackmer were named the Defensive and Goalkeeper of the week by the Little East Conference. Blackmer was also named the Division III ECAC Northeast Co-Defensive Player of the week.

Blake Nyman (Plymouth, Mass.), Sophomore, Back, Keene State College
Nyman anchored a Keene State defense that allowed just one goal in a pair of victories this past week. In the win over Framingham State, the sophomore back from Plymouth, Mass. headed away a potential goal. On Sunday, Nyman recorded his first career-goal in the 82nd minute to lift the Owls past Western Connecticut. The victory over the Colonials earned Keene State a share of the regular-season title and home-field advantage in the upcoming Little East Conference Championship.

LEC Goalkeeper of the Week/ ECAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Paul Blackmer (Boylston, Mass.), Junior, Keene State College
Blackmer posted a 0.52 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in a pair of victories for Keene State this past week. The native of Boylston, Mass. stopped five of his six shots against Framingham State. Later in the week, Blackmer made a career-high nine saves to post his fourth shutout of the season against Western Connecticut.
