Four Owls Named to All-New England Soccer Team
KEENE, N.H. 12/27/07 - Keene State College placed four players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Addias Division III New England men's soccer team announced on Thursday.
Junior forward Alex Horne (Harvard, Mass.) was named to the third
team and senior back Gabe Bergeron (Hopkinton, R.I.), senior
midfielder Caleb Patterson (Barrington, N.H.), and sophomore
forward Mike Cooley (Northborough, Mass.) were fourth-team
selections.
Horne, a two-time member of the All-New England team, led the Owls
in scoring with 10 goals, three assists, and 23 points. Receiving
All-New England honors for the first time, Bergeron anchored the
Owls' defense from his sweeper position; Peterson had a productive
final season chipping in with four goals, three assists, and 11
points. Cooley, who returned to KSC's line-up after missing
the 2006 season with a knee injury, finished second on the team in
scoring with eight goals, three assists, and 19 points.
Finishing with a 12-5-5 record, Keene State advanced to the
second-round of the NCAA tournament this past season.
