Theriault Promoted to Full-Time Status as Men's Lacrosse Coach
KEENE, N.H. 7/14/2010 – Keene State College men’s lacrosse coach Mark Theriault has been promoted to full-time status in the athletic department as announced by KSC Athletic Director John Ratliff. Theriault, who will be starting his 12th year as head coach for the Owls this fall, will focus on fundraising opportunities for the department during the off-season.
“I am very glad that I am now a full-time coach,” said Theriault. “I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.”
The Owls finished the 2010 season 13-6 overall and a perfect 7-0 in Little East Conference play en route to the school’s third conference championship and automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. After defeating Castleton State 21-7 in the NCAA’s, the Owls fell to the defending national champion SUNY Cortland 18-6.
According to coach Theriault, he wants last season’s experience and this promotion to be a stepping ladder for his program. “The fact that I can give the program a full-time commitment is great,” said Theriault. “I truly believe this is an opportunity to keep pushing my guys and get the program to the next level.”
Under the direction of Theriault, the Owls have amassed a 115-53 overall record for a .685 winning percentage. More impressively, KSC is 49-7 in Little East Conference contests for a winning percentage of .875 under Theriault.
