Owls Place Five Players on N.H. Coaches Association All-State Teams
KEENE, N.H. 3/23/09 - Keene State's Tyler Kathan (Ludlow, Vt.) was named men's player of the year and Keith Boucher was selected as women's coach of the year by the New Hampshire Division III Basketball Coaches Association on Monday. Five Owls were also picked to the N.H. All-State team.
Kathan wrapped up his four-year Owl career with a standout senior season, leading the Little East in scoring (18.4 ppg.) and rebounding (10.2 rpg.). Boucher led the Owls to a 21-8 record and a semifinal appearance in the LEC and ECAC tournaments.
Senior forward Nate Anderson (Westminster, Mass.) joined Kathan on the first team. Anderson averaged 13.5 ppg. and 8.5 rpg.
Juniors Kristin Degou (Newburyport, Mass.) and Nicole Simmler (Oxford, Mass.) , and senior Michele Boudreau (Readsboro, Vt.) were named to the women's team. Degou, a first-team selection, averaged 13.1 ppg. and 4.6 rpg. Simmler and Boudreau were picked to the second-team. Simmler averaged 10.3 ppg. and 7.2 rpg., while Boudreau scored 9.1 ppg and topped the team in assists (2.9 apg.) and steals (3.2 spg.).
