KSC's Kathan Named to D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American Team
KEENE, N.H. 11/7/08 - For the second year in a row, Keene State's Tyler Kathan has received preseason All-American basketball honors.
The senior forward from Ludlow, Vt., was recently named a first-team preseason All-American by D3Hoops.com. "It's quite an honor when you consider all the great players from around the country on the list," said Kathan, who was selected as a preseason All-American by Basketball Times magazine going into his junior season. "But my biggest concern at this stage of the season is helping to get our young players acclimated into the program and having a productive senior season."
"It's nice for Tyler to be recognized before his final season," said KSC Coach Rob Colbert. But I'm sure he's the first to tell you that his performance on the court is what matters the most to him. If Tyler has the type of season he's capable of having, I'd like to see his name on that list at the end of the year."
One of the dominant players in the Little East Conference, Kathan led the Owls in scoring (18.1 ppg.) and rebounding (8.3 rpg.) on the way to earning All-LEC first team and D3Hoops All-Region honors last season. He enters this season ninth and seventh respectively on KSC all-time scoring and rebounding list.
