Simula, Berthiaume Named Athletes of the Week
KEENE, N.H. 9/13/10 - Freshman defender Katlyn Simula of field hockey and freshman forward Jessica Berthiaume of women's soccer have been named KSC's Athletes of the Week.
Jessica Berthiaume
Women’s Soccer
Berthiaume found the back of the net five times in a couple of
decisive victories by the Keene State College women’s soccer
team last week. On Wednesday, the freshman from Worcester, Mass.
came off the bench to score a goal in KSC’s 5-2 win over
Westfield State. She followed that up by tying a Owl record by
scoring four goals in Keene State’s 7-1 win over Framingham
State on Saturday. Berthiaume lead the team with six goals
this season.
Katlyn Simula
Field Hockey
Simula continued her impressive play last week as a freshman
defender on the Keene State field hockey team. The
Bridgewater, N.H. native played a key role on a KSC defensive unit
that didn’t allow a goal in shutout wins over Springfield
College (4-0) and Eastern Conn. (2-0) last week. She also
made a contribution offensively by assisting on a goal against the
Pride and netting the game-winning goal against the Warriors.
