Senior Trio Honored by Little East

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. 9/14/09 - Seniors Carly Benning (Brewster, Mass.), Erin Dallas (Marlow, N.H.) and Vikki Stoessel (Derry, N.H.) were honored by the Little East Conference for their play this past week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Carly Benning  (Brewster, Mass.), Senior, Forward, Keene State College

Benning paced the Keene State scoring attack with 13 points, on six goals and an assist, to lead the Owls to a 3-0 week. The Brewster, Mass. product recorded a pair of goals in Keene State's 3-0 upset win over No. 19 Springfield. She also scored two markers against Western New England and Eastern Connecticut to extend her scoring streak of at least four points in five straight matches. Benning also accounted for the decisive score in all three matches.

Defensive Player of the Week
Erin Dallas (Marlow, N.H.), Senior, Back, Keene State College

Dallas directed a Keene State defense that didn't allow a goal in shutout wins over #19-ranked Springfield, Western New England, and Eastern Connecticut. The Owls stifling defense has yet to surrender a marker in 350 minutes, a streaking spanning five matches. Keene State allowed a combined nine shots on net against the Golden Bears and Warriors. She also contributed to the offensive rush with three points against the Pride.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Vikki Stoessel  (Derry, N.H.), Senior,  Keene State College

Stoessel didn't allow a goal in the Owls' three shutout wins last week. The native of Derry, N.H.  registered a season-high eight saves to hold No. 19 Springfield scoreless. She stopped each of the two shots she faced in 50:25 minutes of action at Western New England, while turning back five attempts against Eastern Connecticut.
