2007-08 Cheerleading Recap

2007- 2008 Cheerleading Team Photo

The 2007-2008 season for the KSC cheerleading squad was a building year for the program.  With adjusting to a new coaching staff and crossing over from a coed to an all-women team, the cheerleading program transitioned and began the necessary steps in establishing a new tradition of excellence at the college.  The young squad implemented crowd leading techniques with poms and signs and worked diligently to gain a newfound respect from the Athletic Department and the student body.  The team "wowed" the crowd at Midnight Madness with a flawless performance and attended its first ever away game at rival Plymouth State.  With all the changes that occurred, the coaches and the cheerleaders were pleased with the programs success this season.

Since the squad is made up of mostly freshman and sophomore student athletes, the returning members are very excited and anxious for another season to begin.   The team has set big goals for the all-women program next year.  With hopes for a bid to the UCA College Nationals in Florida, the cheerleading squad has already begun fundraising preparations and personal training for this prestigious event.  As they embark on another season together, the team also hopes to raise more crowd involvement and support at the men's and women's basketball games.  The coaches are very hopeful and confident that the cheerleading squad will continue to build and maintain a respectable program to represent KSC.
