DiPrato and Doyon Named to ECAC All Star Team

CENTERVILLE, Mass. 7/26/11 — Keene State College’s Tyler DiPrato and Bobby Doyon have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Baseball New England All-Star Team announced on Tuesday.

Both players wrapped up their Owl careers this past season.  Diprato, a senior catcher from Suffield, Conn., was named to the first team.  He led the Little East Conference in hits (77), at-bats (179) and was fourth in batting average (.430).  DiPrato was also an on-base machine, reaching safely almost half (.498) of the time. The senior broke Jeremy Schilling’s single-season hits record of 74 set back in 2005, and had his best game of the season back on April 16th against Western Conn. State, going five-for-six with three RBI’s, a double, a triple and two runs scored.

Doyon, a second-team selection, played center and left field for KSC in 2011. The Keene native topped the LEC in runs (57), stolen bases (21) and finished second behind DiPrato in at-bats (178). The hard-hitting outfielder also ended the season seventh in slugging percentage (.624), fourth in homers (10) and fifth in total bases (111). Doyon had two multi-home run games this season, both against conference teams. He blasted a pair against Rhode Island College back on April 2nd, and then hit two round-trippers at home versus UMass Boston on April 22nd.

The head coaches within the ECAC membership voted on the teams and individual awards.
