Doyon named to D3Baseball.com Preseason All-America team

KEENE, N.H.  1/19/10 - Keene State College's Bobby Doyon (Keene, N.H.) has  been named to the D3Baseball.com preseason All-America team announced on Tuesday.

The junior outfielder is coming off a super sophomore season where he batted .435 with 13 home runs and 72 RBIs.  He was selected to both American Baseball Coaches and D3Baseball.com All-America teams.

"It's another great honor.  Now I have to make sure I follow though and have a great season," said Doyon.

As far as the added pressure of receiving the honor, Bobby says he looks at it as a sign of recognition and respect.  "It just gives me the motivation to keep working hard," he said.  "I have high expectations for myself and higher ones for the team."

"I don't think the award will put any more pressure on Bobby," said KSC Coach Ken Howe.  "I think he puts enough pressure on himself to be the best player that he can be.  "It's hard to say he has a big upside with the season he had last year, but then again anything he does at the plate wouldn't surprise me."

Keene State, which posted a 25-16 record and advanced to the championship round of the Little East Tournament last spring, opens its 2010 season with a 12 game trip to Phoenix, Az. from March 13-20.
