Thiesing Signs with Torrington Titans of ACBL

TORRINGTON, Conn. 7/12/2010 – Keene State College sophomore pitcher Tim Thiesing (South Grafton, Mass.) has been signed by the Torrington Titans of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL). The Titans, who have been ravaged by injuries, added Thiesing to bolster their pitching staff.

“I am very excited for Timmy,” said KSC head coach Ken Howe. “This will give him an opportunity to work on some things over the summer and pitch against some great competition.”

Thiesing went 2-2 for the Owls this past season with 27 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. The sophomore’s best start came early on in the season in Arizona against SUNY Brockport when he went 7.2 innings, striking out eight batters and allowing no runs in the victory.

“As long as we continue to get the Keene State name out there I am happy,” said Howe. “Anytime you add another player to an elite summer league it is not only great for Tim, but also for our program.”

Since being signed to the team last Wednesday, Thiesing has already pitched a scoreless inning for the Titans and recorded a strikeout before the ACBL started their All-Star break.

The Titans are back in action Thursday, with a road game at the North Jersey Eagles at 7 pm.
