Doyon named to D3basebll.com All-America team

KEENE, N.H. 5/26/10 – Keene State College’s Bobby Doyon has been named to the D3baseball.com All-America team announced on Wednesday.

An honorable mention selection, Doyon, a junior outfielder from Keene, N.H., is the Owls’ first two-time baseball All-American.  He was named to the ABCA (2nd team) and D3Baseball.com (1st team) squads last year.

Doyon, the Little East player of the year, ranked among the conference leaders in nearly every offensive statistical category, including sitting atop the Little East standings in home runs (10), slugging percentage (.672), and total bases (123). A starter in all 44 games, he recorded a .399 batting average (73-for-183), just missing the .400 mark for the first time in his three-year career. Doyon hit safely in 39 contests this spring, including two separate 15-game hitting streaks. He paced Keene State in runs batted in with 51, driving in multiple runs 19 times on the campaign. On May 1, Doyon turned in a season-high six RBI game against Southern Maine with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish. He also contributed in the field with 94 put outs in 99 chances for a .980 fielding percentage.

Doyon and the rest of the 2010 Owls finished their season with a 27-17-1 record, earning a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.
