COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. 5/13/08 - The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently awarded Keene State College athletes Joe Rousseau (Nashua, N.H.) and Danielle Graveley (Schenectady, N.Y.) with its annual All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year awards - recognizing the student athletes dedication to strength and conditioning.
Rousseau, a member of the Keene State baseball team and Graveley, an Owl women's basketball player, were nominated for the honor by KSC strength and conditioning Coach Sarah Tetso.
"Joe is an extremely hard worker and always gives 100% during every lift and conditioning session," said Testo. "His dedication and work ethic to strength and conditioning made him a key member of the KSC baseball team that earned two consecutive NCAA tournament berths. Joe is a two-time captain that has the respect of his coaches and teammates. He's a leader on the field and in the weight room."
"Danielle has overcome a lot of adversity during her basketball career," Testo said. "She had an ACL surgery on both knees during her freshman and junior year and came back from both surgeries. Her hard work in off-season training and her desire to compete got her back on the court and ultimately made her a better player. Danielle has matured into a seasoned athlete and an exceptional leader."
This year, the NSCA awarded 239 collegiate athletes from 165 schools with this award. The NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year program is in its 29th year.
