KSC Athletes Receive Little East Honors
| KEENE, N.H. 4/22/02 - Several Keene
State College athletes were recipients of Little East Conference
honors this week. Justin Hickman (Mont Vernon, N.H.) and James Slack (Manchester, N.H.) were named baseball player and rookie of the week respectively. Hickman, a junior first baseman, batted .474 with two home runs, two doubles and nine RBIs. He helped KSC post a 4-0 week including the team's first wins over Eastern CT in LEC play. Slack compiled a 2.19 ERA with pitching wins over Amherst College and Eastern CT last week. In the victory against ECSU, he worked into the seventh inning, fanning five and scattering seven hits. Slack is now 4-1 this season. The Owl's Greg Richard (Nashua, NH) and Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) were selected as the LEC men's and women's lacrosse rookies of the week. A freshman midfielder, Richard tallied five goals, including three in a conference win over Southern ME. Mason, a four-time LEC rookie selection, had 11 goals and four assists in KSC's 1-1 week.
