Five Athletes Honored by Little East Conference

KEENE, N.H. 9/8/09 - The following five Keene State student athletes were recognized by the Little East Conference on Tuesday:

Field Hockey

Offensive Player of the Week
Carly Benning, Keene State (Sr., Forward - Brewster, Mass.) - Benning had four goals and an assist in the Owls 2-0 week. She had two goals in a 4-0 win over RPI and two goals and an assist in a 4-0 win against Castleton State.

Defensive Player of the Week
Erin Dallas , Keene State (Sr., Defense - Marlow, N.H.) - Returing to the team after suffering a near life-threatening infection, Dallas spear-headed an Owl defense that didn't allow a goal in shutout wins over RPI and Castleton State. She had two defensive saves in the win over RPI and had an assist in the victory over Castleton.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Vikki Stoessel , Keene State (Sr., GK - Derry, N.H. ) - Stoessel didn't allow a goal in the Owls first two games of the season against RPI and Castleton. She had five saves in 59:05 minutes of play against RPI and had five saves in a complete game shutout win over Castleton.

Women's Soccer

Offensive Player of the Week
Katie Bradford , Keene State (Jr., Forward - Lebanon, N.H.) - Bradford scored three goals in the Owls first three games of the season. She had two goals in a 5-0 win over New England College and the deciding goal in KSC's 1-0 win over Western New England College.


Defensive Player of the Week
Jaclyn Grant , Keene State (Sr., Back - Newington, Conn.) - Grant anchored a KSC defense that allowed just two goals in the Owls' first three games. The Owls posted shutout wins over New England College and WNEC. Grant also had an assist in the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 shutout against WNEC.
