Little East Honors Three Owls

KEENE, N.H. 4/6/09 - The Little East Conference honored the following three Keene State College athletes on Monday.

Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Lauren Sawyer (Westbrook, Maine), Sophomore, Attack, Keene State College
Sawyer had seven goals and 10 assists to lead Keene State to a 2-1 week. The native of Westbrook, Maine handed out at least two helpers in each of her three games, including four-assist efforts against Curry and Rhode Island College. She scored a season-high seven points against the Colonials, while netting six against the Anchorwomen.

Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.), Senior, Keene State College
 Najem raced to a pair of first place finishes at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Track Meet at Fitchburg State College on Saturday. Najem won the 800 (1:58.00) and the 1,500-meter (4:07.79) races to help Keene State score 52 total points and finish sixth in the team standings.

Women's Rookie Track Athlete of the Week                                                                    Emily Peterson (Weare, N.H.), Freshman, Keene State College
Peterson finished seventh in the 100-dash (14.14) and seventh in the 200-meter race (29.35) at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational.
