Five Owls Honored by the Little East
KEENE, N.H. 5/12/08 - The following five Keene State College student athletes received Little East Conference on Monday:
Little East Conference Honors - Keene State College
Baseball
Player of the
WeeK
Greg Ford (Nashua, N.H.), Senior, Outfield/Relief Pitcher,
Keene State College
Ford led Keene State College to the program's first Little East
Conference Baseball Championship Tournament this past weekend after
hitting .348 (8-for-23). The Most Outstanding Player belted a pair
of home runs, scored five runs, and knocked in eight RBI. Ford hit
safely in five of the past six games, including a 4-for-5 outburst
from the plate with four RBI against Southern Maine on May 11.
Softball
Player of the
Week
Katie Allenson (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Junior,
Designated Player, Keene State College
Allenson led Keene State College into the championship game of
the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference New England Tournament
this past week, hitting .467 (7-for-15). The native of Clifton
Park, N.Y. hit safely in four of her five contests, including
registering multiple hits in three games. On May 10, Allenson went
2-for-3 from the plate, matching her season bests in home runs (2)
and RBI (5) against Simmons College. She also belted a dinger
against Brandeis University in the championship tilt the following
afternoon.

Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.), Freshman, Keene
State College
At the New England All-Division Championships at the
University of New Hampshire on Saturday, Kolacz improved on his
NCAA provisional qualifying mark with his fourth place finish
(178'-06") in the hammer.
Women's Track
Track Athlete of the Week
Jennifer Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Senior,
Keene State College
Preparing for the NCAA Division III meet later this month in
University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, Adams raced to a first place
finish in the 5,000-meter race with a automatic NCAA qualifying and
personal best time of 16:39.47 at the All-Division New England
Track and Field Championships at the University of New Hampshire on
Saturday. Adams' time is the fastest in Division III this spring.
Field Athlete of the Week
Crystal Blamy (Walpole, N.H.), Senior, Keene State
College
Blamy took fourth in the high jump (5-05.00") at the New England
All-Division championships at UNH on Saturday. She was the top
Division III athlete in the 18-person championship field, while
also defeating eight Division I oppositions.
