Soar with the KSC Owl Club
The Keene State Owl Club, now entering its second year as the fund-raising arm for Keene State Athletics, is poised to play an even bigger part in Keene State's tradition of excellence. The initial year of the club was a tremendous success with donations to Keene State Athletics increasing by more than 20%. The membership in the Owl Club topped 240 individuals and businesses, with more than 60 gifts being the first gift ever to Keene State Athletics.

Last year's funds partially funded new bleachers for our softball program and irrigation for the baseball infield. While the general athletic budget adequately funds the necessities (uniforms, travel, recruiting, and game expenses) for each of our 18 programs, the funds generated by the Owl Club allow us to do the extra things that enable our student athletes to compete at the highest regional and national levels of NCAA Division III.

If you contributed to our success last year by joining the Owl Club, we are thankful for your dedication to Keene State Athletics. If you missed out last year, we hope you will consider joining us and allowing Keene State Athletics to continue its tradition of excellence.

Success on the field and in the classroom. Keene State College, the top New England public Division III institution in the NACDA Cup standings two of the past four years, sponsors a comprehensive 18-sport intercollegiate athletics program. The Owls compete in the Little East Conference (LEC) and are Division III members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Last season, KSC produced four national track champions and 13 All-America award winners, along with 14 All-Region, 26 All-New England, 24 All-New England Division III, five All-ECAC, and 119 All-Little East student-athletes. Owl teams qualified for three NCAA tournaments, with the men's soccer squad reaching the regional finals. KSC also sent six teams to their respective ECAC tournaments, with women's soccer and men's lacrosse teams claiming titles. Keene State played in six LEC championship games, winning the field hockey crown and capturing two regular-season titles. The Owls have won six consecutive Commissioner's Trophies, emblematic of the top program in the conference.

Keene State athletes approach their studies with the same enthusiasm they display on the field. Over the years, members of the Owl field hockey, cross- country/track, women's softball, swim, and lacrosse teams earned national academic honors. KSC also has the distinction of having 139 student-athletes with a GPA over 3.0 - more than 40 percent of the total group of participants in the varsity program.

Supportive coaches not only help varsity athletes build first-rate athletic skills, but they also take an active role in helping them balance the pressure of academic life with the demands of the athletic season.
