The National Athletic Trainers' Association awarded two Keene State College students with an opportunity to increase their leadership skills & get involved in the legislative process.

The program is called iLead and will take place February 21-23, 2009 in Washington DC. Session topics will include; leadership style, communication, tips for getting hired, social media.  The event will end with a visit to the Capital for "Hit the Hill Day."

The 2009 Capital Hill Day allows Certified Athletic Trainers and students majoring in Athletic training to meet with legislators to better promote the Athletic Training profession. The New Hampshire Athletic Trainers' Association and the Rhode Island Athletic Trainers' Association support these efforts, and awarded free registration and travel, based on a combination of academic achievement, character, and athletic training abilities and activities to Matt Roberts (junior) and Mollie Jean Burgess (sophomore), both currently majoring in the Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.  Mr. Roberts is also the NH student representative and treasurer to the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association.
